| You can start your own local program or work
with an existing team throughout their season (8 to 10 weeks)
and attend state-level events at the end of the
season in the following roles: |
- Coaches, Assistant Coaches
and Chaperones
- Program Coordinators
- Unified Partners

Day-of Volunteers
|
Come help out at a local Special Olympics event!
Volunteers are always needed to help with:
|
- Set up & break down
- Staging athletes
- Compiling results (timing, measuring, etc)
- Awards
- Olympic Town
- Event specific helpers (i.e. track officials, soccer field or
basketball court monitors, officials
- Team escorts

For those looking for a deeper level of involvement with local
Special Olympics events, we invite you to join one of our
management teams! Experience in event planning, volunteer
management, fundraising, or sport-specific activities is
helpful but all are welcome! |

NOTE: All volunteers who sign up to
work directly with our athletes for the season must fill out a
Class
A Volunteer Application before they begin working with a team. Please note the
coaching opportunity of interest to you on the volunteer form in
the local program section. Please retain a copy for yourself and
send a copy to the
West Section office.
