While Special Olympics Massachusetts has worked to improve thousands of lives through year-round sports training, athletic competition and health education, the movement is still affecting just a small percentage of people in Massachusetts with intellectual disabilities.
The Campaign for a New Home is much more than a capital campaign for Special Olympics Massachusetts (SOMA) headquarters. The Campaign for a New Home reflects the Special Olympics mission and commitment to bettering the lives of those with intellectual disabilities in today’s society. By bringing together people with and without intellectual disabilities at Special Olympics programs, longstanding myths are dispelled, negative attitudes changed, and new opportunities are created to embrace and celebrate the giftedness of people with intellectual disabilities.
Please help us reach all those who can benefit from participation in our year round programs. Your willingness to support the Campaign for a New Home will give our athletes the chance to make their dreams come true. Our New Home is paramount to our mission: to give Special Olympics athletes opportunities to participate in the sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics Athletes, and the community.
